2021 6’2 Zion Russell | Georgetown Prep
On Friday we saw a glimpse of what could be more to come during this upcoming high school season as Russell finished with 20 points, 9 assists and 7 rebounds in a close 3 point defeat to Oxon Hill. Like I said, this type of performance is an early indication of what we might see from Russell as he is going to be the lead catalyst for Prep this year.
2020 6’3 Mark Lewellyn | Georgetown Prep
On Friday night Lewellyn put together one of the top shooting performance’s I have seen all summer as he finished with 27 points for Prep. But what really stood out in that performance was how efficient he was, finishing 8/12 from deep. He also hauled in 12 rebounds. Lewellyn will be a guy to watch moving forward this summer as he definitely caught a lot of people’s attention on Friday night.
2020 6’2 Ronald Polite | Oxon Hill
On the winning side for Oxon Hill against Georgetown Prep it was Ronald Polite again having a monster performance scoring 31 points, dishing out 8 assists and bringing down 8 rebounds. In six games during summer league he is averaging 28.5 points per game which leads the league.
2020 6’5 Quinton Mincey | Eleanor Roosevelt
Mincey is a guy that definitely passes the eye test standing at 6’5 with good length as Friday night was one of the best performance’s I have seen from him before. During the game I caught my self saying “he might need a boost in our rankings” as he is currently 51st and his play Friday definitely backed that up as he finished with 21 points on 10/18 from the field while bringing in 8 rebounds. Two things that really stood out was his athleticism and his ability to finish above the rim.
2021 6’2 Ryan Cornish | Richard Montgomery
Cornish had a nice outing Friday night in a one point loss to Eleanor Roosevelt finishing with 28 points. Cornish is a guy that is always going to have the green light it seems like to shoot it from deep and in this particular game his shot was not falling but he did a good job of being aggressive while attacking the lane and getting to the free throw line where he got 11 of his points from.
2021 6’0 Devin Ceaser | St. Mary’s Ryken
Ceaser is another rising junior guard that is off to a fast start this summer league averaging 18.3 points per game. In this particular viewing of him he was extremely efficient from the field from only missing two shots finishing 10/12 from the field. Look for Ceaser to continue to put up big numbers as he is the main bucket getter on a team trying to rebuild in the WCAC.
