Several players have already received high major attention ,and others are starting to burst onto the scene. Here are some things we’ve noticed with the update:
New Top 10: The top 10 in the class experienced some shuffling, and a new face or two joined. Trinity Bell, JD Davison, and Brody Peebles have separated themselves from the pack in our eyes. Bell was dominant playing 16U and moved up to Team Carroll’s 17U program. Davison has carved out a role on Alabama Fusion’s 17U team. Peebles has dominated the competition with Pro One’s 16U team and has been one of the best scorers through the spring schedule.
Prospects on the rise: If you haven’t kept up with these guys, it is in your best interest to do so now. These players are ready for that next step. Taye Fields, Kendan Maddox, and Jamon Reed. Fields has a really solid mixture of skill, size, and athleticism. We’ve heard he is one of the younger prospects in the class as well. Maddox has been very impressive for Hawks Elite. Every time he hits the floor, double double machine. Reed has really good size and skill to play inside/out. He needs to become more aggressive and show off that full game.
Small Guards: The 2021 class is loaded with smaller guards that can flat out play. Don’t let the size fool you, because these guys will give you buckets in a hurry. Smaller guards to watch are Bo Barber, Brandon Green, Quandre Burroughs, Jacob Comer, and Chad Chambers.
Sleepers: There are different reasons for being considered a sleeper, but they all relate to flying under the radar. You may know some of these names, and you may not. These guys are deserving of recognition and need to be watched heading into the summer months. Sleepers to watch are Blake Floyd, Josh Maston, Bryan Bennett, Le’Tarion White, KJ Melson, and Elijah White
