Tre Carroll (Charlotte)
A developing 6’6″ wing, Charlotte standout Tre Carroll is quite the prospect. Offered recently by FGCU this past weekend (his first collegiate offer), the long-legged forward is in for an even bigger workload as a junior for the Fightin’ Tarpons. Carroll is a seasoned shooter, who can get going in bunches especially from the mid-range. He needs to get stronger in his upper body to continue his progression as an attacker.
Oteman Delancy (Lakewood)
6’5″ guard/forward Oteman Delancy (pictured above) is someone who can get the job done. Already looking like Lakewood’s leading scorer for this upcoming fall, he’s been superb in the Marreese Speights Summer League at Gibbs with his shooting touch, high IQ passing and elusive finishes. Delancy’s scoring prowess gets his teammates going and most importantly open for knockdown shots. He holds an offer from James Madison and I earn him to get more awfully soon.
Nate Mikell (Wildwood)
Doubling as a quarterback for the Wildwood football team, 6’5″ athlete Nate Mikell is reliable on the basketball court as well. For Class 1A state contender, he can stretch the floor on his own and he can mix it up defensively with his length and good foot speed. Mikell likes to get to the cup, but he’s able to connect with his jumper as well.
Craig Starks (Miami Beach)
At 6’7″, Craig Starks is always noticeable out there for Miami Beach as he grabs rebounds often and is a putback machine. On a team that graduated nine seniors, the forward is going to have to be even better than his sophomore season. Starks averaged a double-double a season ago and his ability to be active and work hard will be key to Miami Beach’s success this fall.
Thaddeus Squire (Boyd Anderson)
Boyd Anderson lost a lot of size due to graduation. Last season, 6’5″ guard/forward Thaddeus Squire mixed in nicely for a lengthy group for the Cobras. He’s going to be in for a bigger role and his defensive ability and overall strength certainly stand out. Squire is a big bodied guard who can guard nearly every position on the floor and he’s a natural athlete who is figuring it all out.
