Ernest Ross (Santa Fe)
Last summer, 2021 6’10” forward Ernest Ross was simply a raw and long prospect looking to put it all together. The Santa Fe forward is starting to do just that here this summer with the 17U Game Elite squad that is quite deep and athletic. Offers from UF, Ole Miss, Xavier and Virginia Tech have already come in for Ross and I fully expect him to add a few more in the next live period in July. His jumping ability, shooting touch and willingness to cover almost anybody on the floor will take him to new heights.
James Henderson (Westminster Christian)
There really isn’t much not to like about 2021 6’8″ forward James Henderson. The Westminster Christian big man held his own time and time again last season in three different matchups against national powerhouse University School, going neck and neck with Duke signee Vernon Carey Jr. Henderson has top-tier vision as a passer and his body is already developed along with his power moves down low. Northern Arizona has offered with FGCU, USF, Clemson and Dayton have showed interest. I fully expect him to have a banner junior year for a fast-paced Westminster Christian group.
Jayven Millien (Sarasota Riverview)
At 6’7″, 2021 Riverview forward Jayven Millien is someone who is just scratching the surface. Known for his high-energy, putbacks and length on the glass, the rising junior is going to be in for an increased role for a highly athletic Rams unit. Millien is playing for Nightrydas Elite for the rest of the summer. If he can start to be more aggressive as an attacker, his stock will increase.
Ramses Melendez (Central Pointe Christian)
The consistency and finesse that 2021 6’6″ guard Ramses Melendez plays with is impressive. The Central Pointe Christian product has drawn a lot of attention this summer playing for a Team Parsons 16U team that has a lot of players with pure upside. Melendez has earned four offers already from UF, Oklahoma State, USF and FAU. Look for him to continue to get to the rim and hurt defenses from long range.
Javian McCollum (Fort Myers)
Shooting from deep is something 2021 6’0″ Fort Myers guard Javian McCollum has been doing at a high clip since he was a freshman. The confidence, leadership and overall experience that he gained this past season as the man for the Green Wave was not only fun to watch but will go a long way in his development. A high IQ passer and playmaker, McCollum is having a steady summer for Team Parsons SWFL. Look for him to emerge further during this month at team camps and AAU events in July.
