College coaches are always looking for players that fit this script, but let’s not kid ourselves, athleticism is important. Washington’s 2020 class has some very high level athletes that can impact the game due to their natural ability, but also their work ethic and growing skill sets. Without further ado, here are some high level athletes that college coaches will not have to worry about when it comes to their feet, hands and bounce at the collegiate level.
2020 6’2 SG Micah Monroe (Rainier Beach HS) – The most explosive player in the state without much debate. He can run and jump with the best of them. Micah is expected to be reclassifying to the 2020 class and he has been participating with Rainier Beach throughout the Spring and summer leagues. He is a Division 1 athlete with a skill set that has really gotten better in the last year. With continued work on his jumper, handle and decision making, he is definitely going to be able to help some Division 1 program.
2020 6’8 PF Tari Eason (Federal Way HS) – Tari has really been performing well in the camp settings this year and the obvious reasons are his natural instincts and motor. Tari runs the floor as good as any forward in the region and he can really leap off of one or two feet. He excels in transition and gets a lot of put back dunks and drop offs for explosive finishes. Tari is wiry strong and Pac-12 schools are watching his development very closely.
2020 6’1 G John Hart (Rainier Beach HS) – John has now gone viral on social media multiple times for his explosive dunks on defenders out on the circuit. He is a bouncy one-footed leaper that will take off in the half court setting too, if there’s a window of opportunity. John has a very thin frame, but he is wiry strong and aggressive. If he keeps developing and maturing at the rate that he has, he could be a lock at the Division 1 level.
2020 6’5 F Jared Franklin (Curtis HS) – I have been watching Jared play since he was in elementary school and it has been impressive to witness his athleticism take off in the last year. Jared has always been strong with a sturdy frame, but he has actually trimmed down some baby fat and added some bounce to his step. He has the strength and leaping ability to dunk on defenders and he can really get up to block shots. His offensive skill set has expanded some to the perimeter over time, but his motor and athleticism should get him a college ride. *Feature image
