The 6’4″, 190 lbs. sat out his junior season due to transfer rules, but will be asked to do plenty as a senior for his new squad who loses 2019 guard Tre Mann to college at UF.
“I love the people itself at the school and the environment,” Wright told Prep Hoops. “With Tre Mann leaving, they need someone to come in and fill in a big role and they gave me the keys to the boat. It’s a role that I know I can handle.”
As of now, Wright has one offer on the table from FGCU. He also has interest from UCF, Wofford, USF, UNF, Arkansas State and College of Charleston.
This summer, he is spending his second year with Central Florida Rising Stars. He also has been able to play with E1T1 at times this summer including just last month for the previous EYBL session in Dallas.
“Playing with Central Florida Rising Stars has helped my game a lot,” Wright said. “I have been in control of the game more with the ball in my hands more.”
In terms of his biggest strengths, Wright pointed to his ability to score at all three levels and get his teammates involved. He also mentioned his ability to hit shots consistently and stay in attack mode.
As for what he wants to improve, he said his vocalness on the court.
“I need to talk more to teammates but make sure everything is tight on my game handle quickness,” Wright said.
A very bright kid, Wright has always been known for his attacking ability. His shooting prowess is certainly steady and he is able to mix it up defensively with his strength and toughness. Look for Wright to be the guy for a new look Villages squad that will ask him to do just about everything on the floor.
