2019 Final Player Rankings: Power Forward Analysis
The final 2019 player rankings were released this week. Today we break down some of the top power forwards listed who are expected to make an impact at the next level:
Top Dawg: Victor Iwuakor might be undersized at 6-foot-7, but he makes up for it with his endless motor and freak athleticism. The Oklahoma signee holds the top spot at his position because of his workhorse mentality on both ends. He is a great rim protector, rim-runner, and switch defender. The four-star forward’s game will translate to the Big 12 with ease.
Coming on Strong: Calvin Solomon made a 40-plus spot jump in the rankings after a terrific postseason. The lengthy forward’s recruitment picked up after he helped lead his Klein Forest team to the UIL 6A State Championship game. Stephen F. Austin will love the service he provides as a lockdown wing defender.
Best Fit: J’Wan Roberts will be a terrific four-year player in Houston‘s rotation. The trim-framed big man continues to make strides in his offensive game. He is a skilled rim protector who defends extremely well in pick and roll situations. The three-star forward could quickly become an All-Conference talent in the American Conference.
Biggest Sleeper: Mykell Robinson‘s name was not mentioned frequently because of UIL eligibility issues during his senior season. The former Denver commit decided to take a postgrad year and attend Sunrise Christian Academy (KS) next fall. He has currently been running with Team Harden (Adidas) this summer and has captured the interest of schools such as Minnesota and Nebraska in the process.
