This past weekend I was stationed in New Jersey for the third leg of the Under Armour Association. This piece will cover five guys that stood out the first half of Saturday.
2020 6’3 Tristan Maxwell | Team Charlotte
Maxwell scored 23 points on Saturday in a win against Atlanta Express. 15 of his 23 came from deep as his team made it clear they wanted Maxwell to shoot it. He also scored the ball on a nice transition bucket and a nice driving layup on defenders. Maxwell looked everything like a guy that can produce good minutes in a power 5 conference in his college years.
2021 Alphonso "AJ" Smith | Team Charlotte
Another Team Charlotte guard that stood out on Saturday against Atlanta Express was the sophomore, AJ Smith. Smith is a bigger guard that score the ball well driving to the basket. Smith scored 16 points against Express. He can make shots when he is wide open, he finished a layup off the glass when driving to the bucket, rebounded the ball and showed he can go coast to coast with the ball and also hit a nice step back in my viewing of him.
