The Kansas Pray & Play is a grassroots squad made up of prospects from the state of Kansas & Missouri. In this article, I will be breaking down multiple prospects from their squad.
Tavion Banks | 6’5 | SF | 2021
Banks is a versatile wing that has a smooth handle and the speed to blow by defenders. Banks was doing a little bit of everything on both ends, whether it was making plays on offense or playing solid on the ball or help side defense. He also has the athleticism you want in a wing with his size. Banks is currently unranked by PrepHoops Missouri but, I’m quite sure that he’ll definitely be in their rankings in the near future.
Jack Johnson | 6’1” | SG | 2021
Johnson is a deadeye shooter that you must know where he is at all times when he’s on the floor. Johnson plays the game with extreme confidence and isn’t afraid to make plays in big moments. He is a capable ball handler that can run the point when needed, and if you take him lightly he will attack you from the top of the key or the perimeter.
Sterling Chapman | 6’4” | G | 2021
The big guard out of Kansas is as smooth as the other side of the pillow and is never rattled when the rock is in his hands. Chapman has a great body for his position and a good feel for the game. He’s a good facilitator and a strong driver that uses his strength to muscle by defenders when he gets them on his hip.
Keither Florence | 6’8” | PF | 2021
Florence has so much untapped potential it’s ridiculous. The long 2021 prospect from Kansas is very active down low and uses his long wingspan to alter shots and score over smaller defenders.
Keyren Spiller | 6’4” | SF | 2021
Spiller is a utility player that does all the things you need him to do. He knows his role and does it well when he is in the game. Against Team Harden 16U, Spiller used his mature frame to finish through defenders when going to the basket.
C.J. Thomas | 6’7” | PF | 2021
Thomas is a quick off the floor four-man, that can face up on defenders 19 feet and in. Thomas has stupid bounce and will wow you with dunks in transition. He has a good motor and is a strong rebounder.
