Indy Heat EYBL 2020
Going 9-4 this year where the talent pool in-state isn’t that high on the EYBL circuit is pretty impressive. They have some studs and guys that are blowing up nationally. This group has been the best we have seen this year by far at the 2020 level.
Player Who Stood Out: D’Andre Davis – 6’6 SF 2020 – Lawrence Central (IN) / Nebraska
D’Andre looks like he’s taken a massive step forward. That mid-range pull-up that worked so well for him during the season has given him the confidence to go put up points and make plays at a higher clip. He’s giving max effort on all plays and with his athleticism, you can see why he’s among the best in the country now.
Player Who Is Trending Up: Johnell Davis – 6’4 SG 2020 – Gary 21st Century (IN)
Johnell is making a name for himself this Spring and it isn’t with his offense. He’s been one of the best rebounders in the EYBL and dishing out assists like crazy. He’s shown that if you can find your role, you can excel and he’s been nothing short of impressive doing what he does best.
Player Who Is Under-The-Radar: Nijel Pack – 6’1 PG 2020 – Lawrence Central (IN)
Nijel has been in the shadow a bit, not really anyone’s fault but not sure that is the case anymore. The one thing he has done this Spring is show that he is a legit high-major talent. Shooting has been picking up toward the end of the Spring and he’s having some huge scoring games.
One More To Know: Kiyron Powell – 6’9 C 2020 – Evansville Bosse (IN)
Powell is still very raw on the offensive side of the ball but he’s giving you great minutes as a defender and rim protector and starting to gain some confidence on the offensive end. He’s had enough touch and skill to get off shots, but he needs to start landing them. He’s very close to that now.
