DistinXion 2020 White
Of the DistinXion teams in 2020, this is the one that might be the most fun at their best points. A backcourt combo of Turner Royal and Simon Scherry is so, so tough. Those tow are two of the best guys at the point in the 2020 class. But they are deeper than those two. With Scherry now off the board, it will be interesting to see if guys like Parmley or Royal can step up and take charge.
Player Who Stood Out: Turner Royal – 6’0 PG 2020 – Bloomfield (IN)
Turner is a tough lead guard who can really fill it up. He’s shown more of that over the course of the year in high school and now taking bigger steps this Spring. He’s got a streak in him now that can really go and when put in position to be the guy, he can handle it. Turning himself from a solid prospect to a more coveted talent.
Player Who We Discovered: Trevor Riggins – 6’5 PF 2020 – North Daviess (IN)
Riggins is a big forward who has been a name we have been keeping an eye on. A little undersized but still tough and a good rebounder. With the lack of size in the class, he could be a sneaky post who could develop into a weapon. He’s got the capability to take his game forward the rest of this summer.
Player Who Is Under-The-Radar: Benton Parmley – 5’10 PG 2021 – Greencastle (IN)
Benton is an small guard but he’s got a really high level skill as a shooter. He’s so good as a catch and shoot guy but he’s been behind his high school teammate and now a year younger playing up. But, given his age and where he is at, in a year he’s going to be a guy that should impress college coaches with his ability to handle himself on both ends of the floor.
One More To Know: Simon Scherry – 6’2 PG 2020 – Heritage Hills (IN)
While Simon is now going to play baseball having committed to the University of Evansville, he’s still a really good basketball prospect. One of the toughest and more capable leaders, he’s going to be missed by college basketball coaches because he’s so impactful on offense getting his guys in the best places to succeed. Coach on the court type guard.
