These players stood out to me this weekend, in their own way!
Players:
Demarcus Sanford (G / 2021 / St. Louis Blazers): Sanford is a quick guard that can accelerate. Changes speeds well to keep his defender off balance and can finish at the rack. Sanford fills the lane and can lead or be found in transition. Showed these abilities when I watched him this weekend often. Sanford has the ability to turn it up.
Brock Wakefield (W / 2021 / Gateway Basketball Club): Wakefield has the ability to fill up the scoring column. Can score it from multiple levels, including the ability to knock it down from deep. Competes hard on both ends, and looks to deflect the passing lane. A rising sophomore to keep an eye on during Circuit play!
Jai Graham (F / 2022 / Gateway Basketball Club): Graham plays with strong athleticism and has the ability to guard multiple positions. Plays hard, and can score it at the rim at will. Strong frame allows Graham to fight for rebounds with the rest of them. Strong performer at the Show Me Showdown.
Yaya Keita (F-C / 2020 / Gateway Basketball): Keita is a very large prospect, that had mismatch opportunities often. At 6-9”, Yaya is often bigger then his opposition. The ability to score at will from the low block, often just out muscling his opponent. Long arms give the big man the ability to reject shots like no other. A fun prospect to evaluate!
Tony Hannah (WF / 2020 / Starkville Swish): One of my personal favorite prospects to watch this weekend was Tony Hannah. The young man can defend multiple positions, and loves to compete. Solid athleticism and versatility lead the way for Hannah. An impact player who affects the game on both ends, where he can fill up the stat sheet. Can handle the ball a bit, and works well on-ball. Moves well on defense, and knows where to be.
