However, that dedication to his craft, basketball has helped him and you can see it on the court.
“We practice six days a week and hit the weight room three days a week. But it was a really good experience being on a team with so many high-level players and going against guys like Precious (Achiuwa) and Cade (Cunningham),” Price told Prep Hoops. “It gets really competitive during practice.”
…This year I really worked on different finishes around the basket and really improved on making 3’s. Also, my handle became a lot stronger throughout the year. The coaching staff had close relationships with all the players. They always had us in the gym shooting, dribbling or watching some film. They made sure we worked hard and stayed focused and they encouraged us. They all have a good knowledge of the game and share it with the team.”
As of now, Price has offers from, Canisius, Stetson, Bethune Cookman, UNC Asheville and UNF. He also has interest from Jacksonville, Auburn, College of Charleston, Ohio State, Sam Houston State, VCU, Rice, American and Maryland.
The 6’5″, 185-pounder is in his third summer with 1Family.
“They helped me get my confidence up and I wouldn’t have any offers without them giving me the opportunity to be in front of college coaches. All the 1Family coaches believe in me and push me to be great,” Price said. “Playing with this group is simple because we all share the ball and work on defense. I know I can trust any of my teammates to hit me with a pass if I’m open and I would do the same for them.”
Price pointed to his top attributes as his ability to handle, move and change directions, move his feet to guard smaller guards, getting to the rim and finding open shooters. He says he wants to improve his pull-up mid-range jumper.
Expect more Division I offers to come his way as his hot play with 1Family continues into the live period. Price will see ample time with Montverde as well and with his mix of IQ, speed and attacking ability, he makes for a perfect jumbo sized point guard at the next level.
