Continue ReadingTrey Plichta has made his prescense felt on the grassroots circuit this spring. The 6’0″ point guard has let his game speak volumes so far. He attends Sanford Meridian High School and plays grassroots basketball for Champ Sports 17u. Plichta is a rising prospect in the class of 2020.
Plichta has shown an impressive skill set this spring. He’s a knockdown shooter from behind the 3 point line. Plichta is an excellent perimeter defender. He stays low on his man and uses his feet to cut off lanes to the rim. Plichta has a high basketball IQ which makes him a valuable asset to any team and coach.
Trey Plichta is an experienced player that is steadily improving. This off-season he is trying to develop his midrange game and is working to gain strength. Plichta was a key component in Sanford Meridian’s post season run last year. He is looking forward to playing in the Gym Rats National Championship in Fort Wayne later this summer. He’s never played in a Fort Wayne tournament, so he’s anticipating a great atmosphere. Plichta wants to help his grassroots team win as many games as possible, help make his teammates better, and continue to develop his game. He wants to be able to play basketball at the next level while he pursues an engineering degree.
Plichta has a lot to offer a college basketball program. He’s an outstanding student, carrying a 3.98 GPA and a 1310 SAT. Plichta is a solid all around athlete who plays baseball and received All-State honors in cross country. He’s a smart player who grew up around the game watching his Dad coach at the high school and college level. Plichta can be counted on to bring passion and energy to a program at the next level. He should see his recruitment develop as the summer rolls along.
“With my Dad being a coach, I grew up in the gym and developed a love for the game. This continues to motivate me everyday. In addition to this, my parents have always taught me that nothing comes in life without hard work.” – Trey Plichta
