Thaddeus Powell Jr. has done just that in the early grassroots season. He’s a 6’6″ small forward in the class of 2020 and attends DEPSA. Powell Jr. is playing grassroots basketball for All Out Elite.
Powell Jr. has shown an impressive skill set. He has the size and length to be a matchup nightmare on the wing. He puts the ball on the floor well for his size and can attack the rim off the bounce. Powell Jr. also has the versatility to play on the block with his back to the basket. He is a springy player that can get off the floor quickly and protect the rim.
Powell Jr. is showing drastic improvement. He’s currently focused on improving as a shooter. Powell Jr. wants to be consistent with his jumper. He’s becoming a very experienced player, which is contributing to his overall improvement. Powell Jr. points to a game last high school season when he had over 20 points as his top moment in basketball. He’s looking forward to showing off his game in Las Vegas in July.
Thaddeus Powell Jr. has his sights set on accomplishing his goals. In the short term, he’s trying to continuously improve all aspects of his game. Powell Jr. wants to be a great all around player, not just a one dimensional star. Long term, he envisions a future in professional basketball. He wants to be a positive influence in the community and a role model for the next generation. Powell Jr. looks forward to helping his family and letting them see his appreciation for their continuous support.
Powell Jr. should see his recruitment pick up steam as the summer season closes in. He’s already started to see interest from schools both athletically and academically. Powell Jr. has a lot to offer a program at the next level. Obviously his skill set is very intriguing for coaches, but he will also bring a great work ethic and a desire to improve.
