A crafty point guard that handles it well, can shoot from distance and is a lockdown defender, Grant has made his mark as a tough player who brings quickness and athleticism to the floor.
Playing up for Carroll GoL1ve has gotten me a lot better because my coaches have talked to a couple of colleges for me . And got me into some good camps and playing up just makes you realize how the other little things matter lot like getting stronger , being smart w the ball and not going full speed all the time
This summer I have been working on getting stronger , getting my footwork better , and put up a lot of shoots off the dribble and my Pick and Roll Game
Grant was a part of a Pittsburg team that advanced to the Kansas Class 5A state championships last season and played alongside several talented seniors and underclassmen.
“We had a lot of kids go somewhere to play a sport in college not just basketball and I felt like that helped me a lot because they got to the next level and they were role models to me all year,” Grant says. “They told me from rights and the wrongs and my coaches having been very helpful since the camp going into freshman year with different things.”
Grant says he learned a lot about basketball from his dad, and says he looked up to former NBA star Allen Iverson.
“I loved watching his highlights because he was just a dawg on the court and I looked up to him a lot,” Grant says.
As far as current players, Grant says he enjoys watching Kyrie Irving, Kemba Walker and DeAngelo Russell.
“I study the way Kyrie finishes and I study the way Kemba can change his speeds and I just watch russell because he lion hearted,” Grant says. “In college I watch Tremont Waters, Carsen Edwards and Chris Lykes they are all under 6’0 point guards and Ii just try to put all of their work in mine to help me get better.”
Grant has drawn interest from Central Michigan, Alabama A&M and Temple but is still looking for his first offer.
