Jason Kimbrough Jr Jason Kimbrough Jr 6'1" | PG Bella Vista Prep | 2022 AZ is going to be looked to for leadership and to fill in for some of the missing pieces. Kimbrough, a 6’0 2021 PG, played really well in the role that he possessed for the team last year.
He shot the basketball at 35% from 3 and nearly 50% inside the 3. Further, he provided the team with a guard who can execute the offense and can pressure the basketball on the defensive end of the floor.
Despite his youth, he also excelled at getting into the paint and making good reads. He is a skilled passer who has a good feel for where the help side defense is most vulnerable. Further, he knows how to put his teammates in spots where they can be successful.
Kimbrough’s role is only going to grow with some of the leadership changes that have taken place. If his performance for 16U Firestorm Nation is any indication as far as what to expect, look for big things from Kimbrough.
He has been solid this off-season. Further, according to those close to the basketball program at Mountain Pointe, Kimbrough has already stepped up in a huge way as far as leading is concerned.
This June should be a great opportunity for him to demonstrate exactly what he is capable of. With some of the other talented guards from Mountain Pointe moving on, the basketball should be in his hands quite a bit this summer.
With that said, at this point in time, he does not have any offers. Moreover, he has received some interest. Specifically, he noted that he has received interest from Santa Clara, LMU, NAU, and Michigan.
In addition to his on the court skill, he carries a 3.3 GPA in the classroom. As far as what he is looking for in a school, he stated that he wants a school with “high academics” and “great resources” for their basketball program. He is also looking for a program that has good coaches who care about relationships.
Keep an eye on Kimbrough this June and July. He has the potential to be one of the top stock risers in the state. He will be put into positions where he has all the opportunity in the world to excel.
