The 6-foot-3 lefty, who is playing with 17U 6th Man DC, scored efficiently, made plays in transition, and defended at a high level. Covington discussed his overall game and much more during a recent interview with Prep Hoops.
PH: How would you evaluate the team performance?
CC: “I think we played pretty well. I think we could’ve done better in transition. We were straight on defense, but not really in transition.”
PH: What is the most improved part of your game in the past few months?
CC: “I’d say my jump shooting. In the past I’ve been streaky. I want to be able to consistently knock down jumpers.”
PH: What’s underrated about your game right now?
CC: “Athleticism.”
PH: Why is that underrated?
CC: “Because It’s something I’ve been working on. I’ve been doing explosive performance training.”
PH: How are your grades right now?
CC: “My cumulative GPA is around a 3.6.”
PH: Who has been involved in your recruitment?
CC: “In the past, Fairmont State and UMBC, but I haven’t heard from them in a while.”
PH: What do you think you can bring to a college program down the road?
CC: “Toughness, defense, the will to win. The will to fight. The will to get it done.”
