Prospect Profile: Caden Boser
Playing with Wisconsin Swing on the AAU Circuit, Caden Boser has been marvelous this spring. His niche is being able to step outside and make threes, but as he grows into a more complete scorer, he will become a real headache for his defenders. To put it in simple terms: Caden Boser is a proficient scorer who is blossoming into a special prospect.
Scoring 20.4 points per game as a junior at Eau Claire Memorial, Boser has impressed multiple college scouts. “I’ve been getting interest from a lot of schools, the main ones being obviously Milwaukee, then Northern Colorado, Denver, UIC, Monmouth, Princeton, Lehigh, and Valparaiso,” said Boser.
While he is getting a lot of interest from D-1 programs, his lone offer is from UW-Milwaukee. “I really like Milwaukee, I like the campus and the area it is in but most importantly I really like the coaches there. They are all really good at what they do and I think I would fit in really well with them and how they like to play.” UWM may have been the first school to throw an offer Boser’s way, but if he continues to tear up the AAU Circuit, other schools will be flocking to offer the forward a full-ride.
Caden Boser’s stock has skyrocketed thanks to his great spring with Wisconsin Swing where Boser has displayed his offensive skills. Boser stated, “(My AAU season) It has been great even though our team has been dealing with a few injuries we have managed to get some good wins and can hang with anybody.”
While Boser’s main focus right now is Wisconsin Swing , it won’t be too long before he turns the page to his senior season at Eau Claire Memorial. “Some team goals I have is to win our conference and then make it to state. I think with four starters returning and some solid guys coming up it’s a very reasonable goal to win our sectional.” When Boser is playing his best basketball, Memorial will have a chance to beat any team in the state.
Boser has made plenty of improvements throughout his high school career, but he still has some things that he thinks he can improve. “Well, right now I’m focused on the weight room so my strength and speed, on the court the biggest thing I’m working on is my ball handling.” As for his strengths, Boser said, “(my strengths are) definitely shooting and being able to stretch the floor as a big. I’d also say passing and shot blocking are what I’m good at too.”
As the spring AAU season begins to wind down, look for Caden Boser to roll over his success to the summer session. Boser is prepared to end his high school career with a tempting message to college programs.
