FOH Seattle 17U took home the “B” Bracket Championship and North City 2020 took home the “C” Bracket Championship.
Below are some players that stood out over the weekend:
C/O 2020 6’6 (SG) Tyler Patterson (Mount St HS) – Team Zach Lavine
Tyler was arguable one the best players at this weekend tournament. He consistently knocked down jump shot after jump shot all weekend. The highlight of this weekend was the semi final game versus FOH Seattle where Tyler made a deep 3 at the buzzer to send Team Zach Lavine to the championship game, and to eventually be crowned as Champions.
C/O 2020 6’6 (PG) Jabe Mullins (Mount Si HS) – Team Zach Lavine
Jabe was a true floor general. He managed the flow of the game and setup his teammates all weekend with pinpoint passes and also knocked down the open shot off the dribble and off of the catch. His passing ability was really on display this weekend.
C/O 2020 5’9 (PG) Cage Schenck (Woodinville HS) – FOH Seattle
Cage played a huge role in FOH Seattle winning the “B” Bracket Championship. Cage knocked down a huge pull up mid range jump shot to give FOH Seattle a 2 pt lead over Team Zach Lavine, before eventually losing to a shot at the buzzer. Cage is extremely tough! A dual sport athlete with a strong body, Cage plays extremely fast but under control. Cage blew by defenders all weekend and consistently found teammates for open shots. Defenders struggled to guard Cage this weekend.
C/O 2020 6’10 (PF) Mitchell Saxon (PF) (Ingraham HS) – Team Zach Lavine
Mitchell played his role extremely well this weekend. Defensively he played hard clean defense without committing many fouls, he played the pick and roll extremely well with Jabe Mullins and was very consistent from the free-throw line.
C/O 2021 6’4 (PG) Kobe Young (Chiawana HS) – Eastern Washington Elite
One of youngest players competing in the 17U division, but probably one of the most athletic. Kobe is an amazing defender who competing against some of the top prospects in the state of Washington. Kobe played under control and allowed the game to come to him, but his defensive ability along with his athleticism really helped this his Eastern Washington Elite team advance to “A” bracket championship game, but eventually falling to Team Zach Lavine by 5.
C/O 2020 6’6 (SF) Kyle Karstetter (Moses Lake HS) – Eastern Washington Elite
If you watch Kyle compete against some of top prospects in the state, you start to realize that he has the tools needed to be considered an elite prospect. Kyle plays extremely hard on offense and defense. He also looked comfortable attacking defenders off the the dribble and knocking down open jump shots. Keep a close eye on Kyle Karstetter.
C/O 2020 6’1 (PG) Chancellor Hillard (Kennedy Catholic HS) – Team Zach Lavine Silver
This young man was my sleeper of the tournament. Chancellor showed an extremely quick first step off the dribble this weekend. He also consistently knocked down shots and set up his teammates with pinpoint passes. Chancellor has great body control attacking the basket, but in transition defenders struggled against this young man. His quickness and strength did not go unnoticed.
