Here I take a look at a few I was able to get an eye on, that stood out.
Players:
• J’lynn Counter (6’1” / 2020 / Oklahoma Chaos Elite / Southeast HS): Counter is a solid shooting option that can let it fly. Works his hands on defense, and fills the lane how he should. Stays ready to score, very capable ball handler as well!
• Ben Patrick (6’0” / 2020 / Oklahoma Chaos Elite / Classen School Of Advanced Studies): Patrick plays with a high motor that keeps working. Not the most athletic player you will see, but loves to compete. Makes the right plays, and gets to the hoop when he wants to. Plays with some strength that sets him apart also.
• RI Mattix (6’0 / 2020 / BWA / New Hope HS): Mattix showed noticeable defensive instincts out on the court. Calling out matchups and switching on and off of players with regularity. The junior plays with a toughness and slides his feet well to stay with the ball handler. Can finish at the hoop, as well. Looked to be a two-way threat.
• Wylynn Harris (6’6” / 2022 / Old School Wings / Lakeside High): Harris operates smooth around the basket. A larger frame then most his age, and takes advantage of that. Good hands on the catch and has the ability to score from the post. A good touch on his release as well. Nice physicality to his game, a player to watch.
• Xavion Brice (6’1” / 2022 / Texas Impact / Ari. Seguin): Brice isn’t your typical sized player inside, but he gets the job done. Doing a lot of his work at the rim, where he can get up is the go to. The freshman has the ability to play above the rim, as he is very athletic. A noticeable strong build, Brice, is going to be a force in he coming years.
