Oregon Open Run Spring Showcase Preview
It should be an active weekend in Beaverton this Friday through Sunday as the Oregon Open Run Spring Showcase will take place with some of the top AAU teams in Oregon in attendance along with some big name programs from outside state lines.
The High School open 17U division is headlined by the ML20 Enforcers, who have already had a successful spring by winning a couple of tournaments, most recently the Great Seattle Shootout. Marjon Beauchamp (2020 Rainier Beach) and Tari Eason (2020 Federal Way) continue to lead the way for ML20.
It won’t be an easy road for the Enforcers as there are some out-of-state teams who will give them a challenge. First and foremost is MB3 Elite out of the Sacramento area. They’re sponsored by current Sacramento King Marvin Bagley, and his younger brother Marcus Bagley (2020 Sheldon) is the headliner on the team. PNW Sixers 17U Black has some of Southwest Washington’s top players led by Peyton Brammer (2020 Hockinson).
And of course, the stable of in-state teams is solid with Hoop Salem 17U – paced by Mason Lomax (2020 Sprague), Kaelan O’Neil (2020 Churchill), and Jacob Thompkins (2020 Summit), Deep III – led by Trevon Richmond (2019 Jefferson), Cam Feik (2019 Wilsonville), and Lukas Findley (2019 Dayton), OBC, Rose City Basketball, and Dribble Drive.
The 16U/15U division promises to be competitive as well as Hoop Salem will have the debut of Nate Rawlins-Kibonge (2021 Jefferson), Northwest Prospects features Jace Chatman (2021 Skyview) and Kaden Horn (2021 Union), and The Program, Rose City Basketball, and OBC Gold should all be tough.
All games in the 17U and 16U/15U pool play and brackets will be held at the Beaverton Hoop YMCA.
