Going 2-0 to start the day on Saturday, a confident OK Hustle team was ready to compete with the best. These highlighted players will be a big part of a successful summer.
Kavon Key- 6’4- 2020 Tulsa Memorial HS
A Prep Hoops ranking of 18 in the state of Oklahoma, Kavon Key and his stock will continue to rise. Key has strength, size, quickness and uses it all to his advantage. An all around player, his best feature would be his jumper. I watched Key take a few steps across half court to pull up with a defender in his face. Not being affected by the defense, he continued to rain threes down on opposing teams. He had my full attention at that point. His ball handling at full speed was impressive. Not a lot of wasted movement, just straight to the rim, using his off shoulder to bounce defenders off. Having a summer to showcase his skills at a high level will set him up for a successful school year.
Brayshawn Finch- 6’5- 2020 Tulsa Memorial HS
At 6’5 Brayshawn Finch is a very athletic wing player with a tone of upside to his game. Very mobile with long arms, which gives him the advantage to finish above the rim over defenders. Good ball handling for his size, very shifty and creates space between him and the defender for his jump shot. Finch has the green light to shoot from anywhere on the court for coach Harvey. A Tulsa Memorial player as well, Finch is the X-factor for both teams he plays for. He brings a lot of force on defense and alters shots at the rim, a player who could easily be a top prospect by the end of the summer circuit.
Cade Paulin- 6’0- 2020 Vanoss HS
Every solid AAU team must have a PG who can run the show and Cade Paulin does just that. A tough point guard who isn’t afraid to attack the paint and finish with contact. Getting to the free throw line is where he made his living during most games this weekend. With a quick first step, he can blow by defenders and attacks the help side defense to create a foul and the bucket most times. OK Hustle is loaded full of shooters and Paulin is just that. Not afraid to shoot over defenders, uses step backs or side steps to create space for his shot. A talented point guard that will have his opportunity this summer to be seen.
