We love getting into gyms and finding players that you may not have heard of yet and this tournament gave us that exact opportunity.
NC Vipers 2019 Guard Kasey Perkins: Had a nice day overall and is looking to play his way into some college recruitment as he was one of the few unsigned seniors in the building. Showed the ability to score from the wing and defend multiple positions which was pretty impressive considering the fact that he is only about 6’2.
NC Vipers 2020 Guard Parker Watson: One of the better shooters in the entire event, he was cash from three point land, having five or more treys in multiple games. When he keeps the game simple as plays to his strengths as a shooter, he is a productive player without a doubt.
NC Vipers 2020 Forward Maxwell Robertson: He didn’t have a ton of minutes or production for his high school team this past season but that should change going into next year. He’s a player that has nice leaping ability as well as good reaction time defensively which allows him to come up with passing lane steals and help side blocks.
Robeson United 2020 Forward Joshua Duran: Provided a nice interior presence for his team as he scored in the paint, blocked shots and rebounded well. His combination of size and wingspan allow him to be a pretty solid defensive player and he has offensive tools that can be developed as long as he continues to work.
Fayetteville Spurs 2020 Guard Alijah Miles: Had an outstanding showing throughout the weekend, using his speed to get to the spots that he wanted. He scored the ball well by not only breaking down his defender but forcing turnovers and pushing the ball out into transition.
Watch Us Work 2021 Guard Marviere Smith: One of the smaller players that we saw all event long, but his performances showed that height doesn’t matter at all. He constantly was on the attack causing problems for all defenders, scoring in multiple ways and showcasing his stellar ballhandling skills.
