Northstar Q&A: MN Matrix 17U
This is the fourth of five installments of our Northstar Hoops Q&A series, aimed at getting to know our Minnesota 17U teams a little bit better. Here we chat with Daniel Makepeace, head coach of Matrix 17U as well as a local trainer. We do talk about certain programs a lot, so it was fun to get to know a team that is very new to the scene.
Alex’s Take: since we shot this video, Matrix has earned the #9 spot in our NHR 17U rankings. They also won the Meg Vang event last weekend. Eyes will definitely be on Jacob Jennisen, a 6-10 big man from Sauk Centre who is attracting D1 attention. Dylan DeChampeau from Greenway is a very athletic player, and Gavin Vosika and Will Cordes are both average-sized guards with lots of skill and toughness. There’s no shortage of talent on this squad, and there are several reasons for college programs of all sizes to take a look.
