Carter Anderson of Matrix (Centennial). Carter missed half the winter to injury and has missed the spring as well, there is no guarantee that he is playing any time soon (we don’t know what the injury was). But if Carter is able to play, we are anxious to see where he is at. This is a player that last spring looked like he could be a top 40-50 guy in the state.
Joshua Brown of Heat Vang (Park Center). Brown was one of the biggest surprises, stock raisers of the spring with several strong performances on the SPTS & PH Circuits of play. He’s one of the better shooters in Minnesota and now he’s heard from some D1 programs. Is Brown that level of player? This weekend his jumper will be something watched closely game to game.
Joich Gong of Select Cave (Mankato East). The Mankato East playmaker with D2 programs calling has Select at 20 wins. This is the type of weekend where Joich will be one of the top playmakers at the event and could possibly shine as one of the weekend’s best.
Jacob Jennissen of Matrix (Sauk Centre). A d1 offer is in the bag, other schools will be watching Jacob at the MBCA event in June, and this could be a nice preview weekend for Jennissen as he prepares for a big summer. Jacob has had some outstanding performances in the spring, we look forward to see him game to game this weekend.
Noah King of Comets Lewis (Caledonia). Noah King is the best 17u player in this event and this weekend King is expected to lead his team to a strong performance. Noah has shown he is a tough, physical leader that leads his team to wins in a Vinnie Shahid way.
Colin Meade of WOTN (Rochester Lourdes). When it comes to 6-foot-5, 6-foot-6 four-men in this state we have a lot. This event has a lot. Collin has a chance to go head to head with several of them this weekend for a WOTN team that is looking for a winning streak.
Wyatt Olson of MN Rise (St. Peter). Wyatt has been one of the best players in the spring when it comes to Minnesota players even putting baskets on the D1 Minnesota frontcourt. Much is expected of Wyatt from game to game as he shoulders a nice share of the load but Wyatt has often proved worthy of the responsibility.
Calvin Sisk of Comets Lewis (Rockford). Sisk took a big step forward this May playing more aggressively on both ends of the court. At Sisk’s size he is forcing everything over the top, has taken a liking to finish over people, and his help over responsibilities have been handled in a big way.
James Sommer of Mentality (Cristo Rey Jesuit). Sommer is coming off a 24/8.5 per game season and it was last year that Sommer made a big name for himself at this event playing with this same Mentality 17s team. What will James do this weekend as his team pushes for at least a final four spot?
Peter Soumis of Northern Lakers (Hermantown). The Northern Lakers are a top ten team and Peter Soumis has played well against whomever the schedule has put in front of them. There will be talented guards that Soumis has to face this weekend and it’s another chance for Peter to prove he’s one of the state’s top playmakers.
