Here are the rising senior standouts:
Andre Harris C/PF 6’7 250 Hillcrest Prep (Compton Magic Elite 17)
-Strong face-up 4/5-man who is one of the better passers out there. He plays really physical and seeks the contact in the paint. He can face up and shoot it from the perimeter plus handles it well and can rip through and score it. Once he gets a full head of steam he can flush it down above the rim. His IQ for the game is really high. He is a great teammate and fits right in perfectly with the high IQ/unselfish players of Terry and Evan Mobley. He may be undersized but plays hard, physical and has skill.
Trent Hudgens PG 6’0 160 Moon Valley HS (Team Harden 17)
-Incredibly quick on-ball defender. Gets right in your grill and has elite lateral quickness. Lead guard who can shoot it with range. Can turn the corner on his defender and get into the lane and score it. Highly competitive sets him apart from some.
Yunisa “Yu Yu” Turay PG 5’10 145 Eduprize HS (Team Harden 16)
-Dynamic scoring lead guard. Super speed in the open court and can turn the corner on his defender. Has a good feel for the game and can make others better as well. He is quick on the ball defensively and his speed, competitive and motor stand out. Deep 3pt shooter can get hot in a blink an of eye. He carried his team during many stretches with 20+ point games. (Pictured on cover)
Juhlawnei Stone PF/C 6’6 215 Dobson HS (Prime Basketball 17)
-Powerful built forward who can explode up to dunk the ball or grab a rebound with two hands. The lefty could extend his shooting range but is very efficient near the basket. He is a quick jumper and uses his physicality and athleticism around the rim.
Isaiah Floyd SG 6’3 175 Eduprize HS (Team Harden 17)
-Powerful downhill guard. Capable 3pt shooter. Good passer and can be a playmaker for others. Plays way above the rim on the break and is starting to pull-up from mid-range. He is tough on the ball defensively and can be a secondary ball handler in a pinch. The more growth he makes with his shooting, the higher the level he will go.
Anthony Irvin SG 6’3 175 Corona del Sol HS (Prime Basketball 17)
-Irvin is a consistent perimeter shooter. He can take the ball to the basket but is best skill is letting it fly from deep. He has some of the deepest range in the state and showed it off while hitting a 35-foot shot at the buzzer to advance to the next round. Has become stronger in the last year and his confidence is at an all time high.
Irvin was on fire all weekend long.Paul Hayden SF 6’5 190 Sunnyslope HS (Team Zona 17)
-Strong wing who can shoot it consistently. Can get downhill and shoot it from mid-range to the 3pt line. Can post up and score it inside or fade away. Physical defender who plays hard throughout a game.
