Prospects:
• Ben Fort (6’5” / W 2019 / All-Ohio Red 17U / Reynoldsburg): Ben Fort is one of the top remaining players in the class of 2019 in Central Ohio. A wing that can defend multiple position, flashing versatility. Fort was a nightmare in transition, always attacking the rim with force. Besides playing above the rim, Fort showed his shooting ability. A catch and shoot threat that got himself plenty of open looks. The senior plays the passing lanes well, forcing turnovers. Going down to the end of his recruitment, don’t be surprised if a school pulls the trigger late.
• Taquan Simington (6’2” / CG 2020 / South): I watched Simington one game, and he simply did what he normally does, make plays. The ability to score as a slasher and off the dribble is there. Simington has a knack for getting after loose balls and rebounds, and competes at a high level. A terror in transition where he showed ability to dish it, or finish it.
• Chance Groce (6’5” / 2021 / Ohio Hoopsters / Linden McKinley): Groce really showcased his scoring ability in the game I caught. Doing a lot of damage at the rim, a threat in transition. Has the ability to lead the pack, or play trailer. With a solid frame, Chance has the length to be a lockdown defender, that can guard multiple positions. A lot of raw talent, as it continues to iron out, we will see Groce become just that much better.
• CJ Anthony (6’0” / G 2020 / All-Ohio Red / Harvest Prep): CJ Anthony dominates the on-ball game. As the lead guard he filled his spots perfectly and attacked when needed. One of the toughest in the area playing downhill, he excels in that phase. On defense, bringing the bulldog mentality, Anthony got after it. Attacking with swarming on-ball defense. The soon to be senior, makes right play after right play.
• Carter Jones (6’4” / W 2021 / Mid-Ohio Pumas / Centerburg): Jones was dominate his sophomore campaign in a small school league when I watched him. Carter scored inside with toughness, often stronger and outworking the opposition. The ability to step out and score it is also there, making Jones a tough player to guard. With a strong build and willingness to improve, Jones should soon breakout and more will know his name.
