Kaimen Lennox 6’2″ Team KC Black: An excellent point guard from Truman who has putting in some impressive work throughout the spring and the KC Classic was no different. He has a nice balance of facilitating the offense and going to get buckets at a high rate. The lefty plays with excellent pace as he is always looking to push the ball. He can get to the basket and his stop and pop from the mid-range is nice.
Maricus Grant 6’2″ Marcus Denmon Elite: The physical guard from Battle has a well documented reputation for his defensive prowess, but he displayed some offensive chops in helping his team to the 17U championship. He knocked down four 3-pointers in the championship game as he did a nice job off the catch. He has a nice stop and pop jumper in the lane plus his ability to pass the ball and rebound the basketball was also very good.
Dez McKinney 6’0″ Marcus Denmon Elite: Excellent two-way guard from Raytown South who competes hard at both ends of the floor. He attacks the basket relentlessly and he has the strength to finish well in the lane through much contact. He was also tough on the defensive end as a menacing ball hawk.
Quenton Shelton 6’2″ Carroll GoL1ve: An impressive all-around offensive player from Lebanon with excellent shooting range that extends well beyond the 3-point line. He has good handles and can get his own shot when defenders try to close out on him. Has gotten physically bigger and stronger over the course of his high school career.
Jalen Perry 5’10” MoKan 2020: A small quick point guard from Liberty North who knows how to handle the ball and handle the offense. He did a nice job of setting up teammates with excellent passes from all angles throughout the weekend. He has the quickness to get by defenders to the basket and he could create his own shot to knock down the perimeter jumper.
Kobe Campbell 6’0″ Marcus Denmon Elite: A smooth combo guard from Raytown South who can handle the ball and score on drives to the basket from different angles. He came up with some big buckets from 3-point range in the semifinal victory over YOBO. He knocked down three in the second half. He is a much better 3-point shooter off the dribble than he is off the catch.
Tayven Glasgow 6’3″ Team KC Silver: Big bodied point guard from Lee’s Summit West who knows how to play the game the right way. He is strong on the dribble and can facilitate the offense and make teammates better with his high basketball IQ. He uses his strength to get to the basket and score in traffic plus he can knock down the 3-pointer to keep defenders honest. Does all of the little things to help his team win.
Jace Lance 6’0″ Team YOBO: Talented combo guard from Marshall who can shoot the ball from distance, but also has the ability to get buckets from all three levels. Very comfortable with the ball in his hands or playing off the ball. Has a nice one-dribble pull up jumper to compliment his 3-point shooting ability.
Cortez Howelett 5’11” Marcus Denmon Select: Watched this Raytown High guard at the Gateway Tournament last month and was very impressed. Continued to be impressed after seeing him again last weekend. He can really score in a variety of ways. Plays with a lot of confidence. He has the handles and creativity to get his own offense.
