Here, Prep Hoops takes a look at some of the events top forwards in the 16U division.
21-Justin Fawcett, 6’6, 2021, Eudora, Kansas Cagers
A smart big with good height, length and stature. He runs the floor and is the first to get back on defense. He values rim protection and can block shots and pin the ball on the glass. He runs hard and finishes well around the basket.
32-Jared Gerdes, 6’7, 2021, Summit Christian, MOKAN 2021
A center with elite height who likes to gamble on the defensive end. He is very good at setting screens and can score when he trails the guard all the way to the basket. He’s also comfortable shooting from distance and playing above the rim through contact.
2-Andrew Orr, 6’8, 2021, Blue Valley North, MOKAN 2021
A nice big off the bench for Mokan who can clean up messes in the paint. He has great size at 6’8, nice length and good footwork around the basket. He’s a solid rebounder on both sides. He finds his man, makes contact and gets them out of the way.
22-Isaac Patterson, 6’4, 2021, Blue Valley North, MOKAN 2021
A tall forward who can shoot the deep ball and pass well on the high post. He keeps things interesting and he moves well off the ball going from corner to corner looking for deep balls and layups underneath the basket. He also recovers well on defense and can block shots left and right.
