Some top end teams joined the circuit this week leading to top players.
Here are some of the top rising seniors at the event:
Makur Maker C/PF 6’11 Orange Lutheran HS (Dream Vision 17)
-Good skill level with tremendous size and athleticism. Shot blocker and high level rebounder in area. Can go length of court handling the ball and flush it down above the rim in traffic. When he is fully engaged he can be a dominant defensive player. Closes out on shooters and make good reads to teammates. Cousins with Thon Maker.
Coleman Hawkins PF 6’9 Prolific Prep (Dream Vision 17)
-Long face-up forward with a pretty touch from the perimeter. Defends decently in space and can use his huge wingspan to block shots or rebound the ball. Can get stronger and improve lateral quicks and handle in tight spaces but a perfect floor spacer at the next level with NBA range.
Jaren Johnson SG 6’4 Lynwood HS (The Truth 17)
-Smooth shooter with decent length. Gets downhill with a good burst. Has a polished middle game and consistent 3-ball. Can thicken up and get stronger but plays a smart floor game and will get you buckets.
Austin Cook SF 6’5 Damien HS (BTI Select 2020)
-Cerebral shooter who can make plays for others. Super quick release from deep. Can play physical as well and grab boards and make contested shots inside. Cook’s IQ is off the charts. One of the smarter players viewed this weekend.
Boubacar Coulibaly C 6’10 San Gabriel HS (Dream Vision Next)
-Shot blocker who moves feet swiftly covering a lot ground. Gobbles up everything on the glass with his length and flies in the open court. True rim runner and active on both ends of the court. Can score it with his back to the basket and face-up from elbow and in but can make strides.
Nick Bowden PG 6’0 St Bernard HS (Los Angeles Elite Hollingsworth)
-Deep 3pt range and quick release. 1-dribble pull-up and pushes ball. Deceptively quick and smart player. His jumper makes his game go but is a very good passer in traffic and has a good feel for the game.
