Payton Watson 6’6 2021 G Long Beach Poly HS/The Truth EYBL 16U
Payton Watson looked really good going to the rim today. He has a lot of length and uses his long arms to wiggle around defenders in order to get a lay up. He also showed that he can shoot it a bit but I think he is best served as a downhill slasher. Additionally, he can play make and do some good things with the ball.
Reece Dixon 6’5 2021 G Dorsey HS/The Truth EYBL 16U
Reece Dixon has a great body that makes it easy for him to get off his shot due to his strength. He is very shifty and deceptively quick. Dixon also has a great shot and looks really good when attacking the basket.
DaRon Holmes 6’9 2021 F Millennium/PHH UAA
DaRon Holmes absolutely dominated in day 2. He was able to do whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted. He scored a lot of points and collected a lot of boards. He was also getting it done on the defensive side, turning away a lot of shots.
D’Marco Dunn 6’4 2021 G Marana/PHH UAA
Dunn looked tremendous today. He attacked the rim with tenacity and got a lot of open looks for himself. He showed off the handles but dropping his defender on a step back and drilling the mid-range. Dunn looked really solid on the ball on defense also. Dunn also put on a show in transition, throwing down some highlight worthy dunks.
Justus Jackson 5’10 2021 G Millennium/PHH UAA
Justus Jackson looked like he was in prime form today. I thought he has looked a bit slow this summer, not looking like the player I saw all high school season long. Today, he put those thoughts to rest and came out and absolutely balled. He created a lot of shots for his teammates, showing off his play making ability. He was able to get to the rim pretty easily and finish despite his height and he shot the 3 ball very well.
Austin Soloman 5’9 2020 G Diamond Ranch/Rancho Elite National
Soloman probably had the most exciting performance of the day. His team was down by nearly 30 points at half time and that did not sit well with Soloman. He hit three 3’s in a row to start the second half and ignite his team. However, his team went away from him and didn’t get him the ball as much. Later in the game, he hit 3 in a row again! This cut the deficit to 7! He had a great performance despite the loss and looked like an elite shooter, even knocking down 2 from near half court.
