Tyrhne Fortney (Downriver Bad Boys 16U)
Fortney is a well-built 6’8” power forward who jumped off the floor to us in their first game of the night on Friday. Broad shouldered post with good strength. He was a beast on the boards against the T-Wolves snatching them out of the air and throwing outlets to start the break. Offensively he was most effective on spins where he was often fouled along with sealing his man off for scores.
Devin Boyd (MBA 17U)
Boyd was a major reason that MBA made the championship game at Havoc. This shooting guard makes shots from the perimeter especially from the top of the key. Clean looking shot and mixed in several runners as well.
Jeremiah Pittman (MBA 17U)
Pittman is a long and lanky four man that rebounded very well throughout the event. He has quality length and athleticism. In the championship game also displayed he could knock down jumpers hitting a couple threes.
Tyree England (Wisconsin United 17U)
England is a dynamic scoring point guard. What you have to like about his game is the way he breaks down defenses off the bounce. Shifty ball handler that put defenders in a spin cycle on a regular basis. One of the best jump shooters we saw all weekend as he drilled jumpers from all over the floor. Dropped 27 points on opening night.
Javeon Toliver (Wisconsin United 17U)
Like his teammate this slick handling point guard can really hoop! On Sunday he was excellent scoring at all three levels with his smooth ball handling and adequate jump shot.
Braedan Helms (Tipping Point 15U)
We came away impressed with what this Indiana wing brought to the table. Very efficient scorer that got hoops in a variety of ways. Off out of bounds plays, runners, and-1s, threes, post ups, etc.
Tre Payne (Michigan Goonies 17U)
The Goonies guard Tre Payne was a fun player to watch. The lefty combo guard gets in the lane and to the foul line. Slick ball handler who got pretty much wherever he wanted along with setting up a quality jumper which he drilled three of from deep.
Kel’el Ware (All Arkansas Red 17U)
Ware is a very projectable power forward in the 2022 class that was playing up several ages. The long and thin post showed a lot of mobility around the basket and got on the glass for put backs.
Carlos Miller (All Arkansas Red 17U)
Miller is a strong wing that got to the rim at a high rate. Powerful scorer who can also really shoot the basketball knocking down shots from mid-range and three for the Arkansas squad.
Ryan Thissen (Minnesota Select 17U)
Thissen is a two guard that scored well from all three levels, but it was his three point shooting that stood out the most. He nailed an array of triples in a win over Y&R. Smooth wing with positional size.
Logan Van Essen (Indiana Game 16U)
Van Essen was a creative scoring wing that finished on a regular basis with scoop shots and strong baseline takes. Was definitely at his best scoring off the bounce.
Mason Dorsey (California Raptors 15U)
Dorsey stands at 6’3” and the California wing has a lanky frame. Gets to the hoop with slick drives off the dribble. Was the go to scorer and top prospect for a 15U team that made the title game.
Carter Mims (Team Flyght 16U)
Mims went off for 28 points in the championship game for Team Flyght. Small guard that was lightning quick with the ball in his hands. Got to the hoop off the bounce and in transition with his pure speed and made layups well through bigger defenders.
Nate Johnson (Team Flyght 16U)
Johnson opened the championship game looking like he was going to have an epic scoring contest. He might be the best prospect on this team that won the championship. Strong wing with a burst slashing where he finished well at the cup.
AJ Brown (Team Flyght 16U)
Brown is a tall and strong big man that is tough to move on the block. He displayed skill on the low block, played bully ball with smaller opponents, was a physical post defender, rebounded well in his area, and even hit a three.
