For us, we are looking at those top players from Indiana. Today, we are detailing the top players that popped on our radar. Here are the best we saw at Havoc in the Heartland.
Brandon Baber – 6’5 PF 2020 – Jac-Cen-Del (IN) – Indiana Legends 2020
Baber is a guy we have known for a while but he’s also a guy that has been trying to define his game enough to know what exactly he is. Now, we finally feel like he has some direction and skill that can play at the next level. Showing more mobility and a much stronger frame, able to play as a 4-man that can make plays with his defense and rebounding.
Payton Sparks – 6’7 C 2021 – Winchester (IN) – Indiana Elite All-In 2020
Payton is a big post player who has shown this Spring that his skill set is wide and a lot will depend on how the body develops. He’s athletic and quick for his size but could take it to a whole other level. He’s always played well when we have seen him be the best player on the floor.
Tyler Schmidt – 6’3 SF 2020 – Victory Christian (IN) – Indiana Dawgz 2020
Tyler is a big wing who has shown the upside to be a capable college prospect. He’s got all the tools for a scoring guard you need and enough size to have some versatility. Will need to play well this summer to keep his stock up heading into the Fall.
Micah Moore – 5’9 PG 2020 – Warren Central (IN) – Indy EBC 2020
Micah is another guard to come through the Warren Central program and could be a highly used one this year. Small but quick and shifty which he utilizes really well. He’s a guy that can also score at a pretty good clip. Slasher from the wing with some passing ability.
Landen Babusiak – 6’7 PF 2022 – Hanover Central (IN) – Indiana Game 2022
Having seen Landen a few times now, it’s pretty easy to see how good he could become. So talented near the rim and a frame that is only going to allow him to be more productive. Didn’t impact the high school team too much but he looks like he could flip that on it’s head real quick.
