The Power Teams
Team Speights (1). Six-foot-7 power forward Jakob Hester and 6-foot-3 combo guard Dionte Blanch have led Team Speights to an outstanding start of the season with a championship in Texas and a strong one-loss performance as well. Hester is an excellent low post worker that provides double-doubles in numbers, and a work rate that rubs off on teammates. If Hester is the worker, Blanch is the constant playmaker. An event MVP with several D1 offers coming off a 21.7 point, 7.1 rebound, 4.8 assist, and 2.4 steals a game winter.
Dallas Showtyme Elite (2). Showtyme is 11-1 on the Prep Hoops Circuit and 8-0 on the Under Armour Rise circuit after a perfect weekend. BJ Francis continues to run this team successfully while Sherman Brashear Day Day Hall continue to take advantage of the offensive developments for scoring production. Brashear’s beautiful left handed stroke and defensive ability have made him one of the hottest 2020 names in Texas at the moment.
Arkansas Athletes Outreach (3). Drew Miller has been one of the more dominating scorers on the PH Circuit this spring while Elliot Paschal continues to be that precise lead guard making sure every shot his team has is high percentage. They have a title to their spring and a 8-2 record overall.
Houston Raptors Benjamin (4). These Raptors win games with great balance. Six-foot-5 wing Jermarcus Holt was the team’s leading scorer in the Mayhem PH event with some explosive scoring performances while point guard Chris Harris has proven he can both create for his team, and score in big numbers. Add in Matthew Guidry and Terry Anderson and you have a very consistent group of producers.
Team KC Blackout (5). A 13-3 Prep Hoops Circuit squad and it starts at the PG spot. Kaimen Lennox is a speedy lefty lead guard that does a fantastic job directing his crew. Scoring numbers are there but more importantly shooters are hit on the hands for attempts. Jarrett Hensley and Jordan Jermain are the wing scorers that have spread the defense.
