Today, I wanted to take a look at a 2021 team, Mid Ohio Pumas – Gilliland.
Made up of some smaller school players, this team has some definite D2-D3 talent for the next level!
Roster:
Ben Knostman (6’4” / PG / Tippacanoe)
Carter Jones (6’4” / WF / Centerburg)
Ryan Magill (6’3” / G / Fairfield Union)
Camden Primmer (6’2” / G / Teays Valley)
Riley Gibson (6’0” / G / Circleville)
Preston Crabtree (6’2” / G / North Union)
Jeremy Wietelmann (5’10” / PG / Logan Elm)
Jason Sailor (5’8” / G / Logan Elm)
Eli Burgett (6’5” / PF / Teays Valley)
Notable Players:
• Ben Knostman 6’4” PG (Tippacanoe): 6’4” PG that creates open shots for everyone on the team. With his large frame yet quick feet and quick hands he guards all positions very well. Shoots over 40% from three-point range and leads the team in free throw attempts, also.
• Carter Jones 6’4” F (Centerburg): Carter plays the stretch four very well. A lot of times he has to guard the other teams biggest player and has always dominated the boards wether he’s guarding someone 6’3” or 6’8”. With his ability to score from inside and 25 feet out he’s a mismatch nightmare for anyone he goes against.
• Ryan Magill 6’3” G (Fairfield Union): One of the better three-point shooters in Central Ohio. Outside of three-point shooting he is a great offensive rebounder and on ball defender. Plays the game tough.
• Camden Primmer 6’2” G (Teays Valley): Camden Primmer does whatever it takes to get the job done. Guards the other teams best player, always cuts to the bucket, gets to the foul line, gets second chance points and a born leader. Great scorer from 15 feet in and look for him to develop a more consistent three-point shot. A possible breakout player in Central Ohio
• Riley Gibson 6’0” G (Circleville): Riley averaged 17.5ppg this year for Circleville High School. His scoring ability has transferred over to AAU very well. Very consistent from three and a shifty ball handler. Coach Gillilan has been impressed with his ability to become a better defender. Gritty attitude that plays with a huge chip on his shoulder. Loves to compete.
