In addition, several players have been elected to upcoming top 100 camps for 2022 prospects. Here are 5 players that have stood out and need to be watch the rest of the grassroots season.
Knute Wood (Nike Elite Stars)- Woods is a 6’3 combo guard that is very skilled offensively. He has a crafty handle and very good vision. Woods has the ability to score at all 3 levels and is more athletic than he appears. This spring, Woods has made waves for his ball screen reads and very sharp shooting mechanics.
Will Shaver (Pro One)- The 6’8 big has already received an offer from UAB. This kid has soft hands, is an active rebounder, and alters shots in the paint. He’s not overly athletic, but he has very good feet. For a young big man, Shavers has the potential to be the best big in his class and a top 10 talent.
Martavious Russell (Nike Elite Stars)- Russell is a tough 6’3 wing. This kid is one of the best two way players and athletes in the class. Russell plays above the rim and attacks fearlessly. He has the ability to score at all 3 levels, but theres no doubt his slashing and finishing ability stand out.
Antonio Kite (Alabama Fusion)- Kite might be the best point guard in this class. He already has good size at 6’0-6’1, and he is a wizard with the ball. Kite is an elite finisher and can score from all 3 levels. This kid has been playing up a level and is still one of the best point guards on the circuit.
J’Quan Broxson (Team Carroll)- Broxson is a special talent. This kid is a solid 6’4 and can do it all. He scores from all 3 levels and is a very good perimeter rebounder. Broxson made waves this spring for a monster transition dunk. The next step in his development should be playmaking. If this kid develops his playmaking with the way he can score it… watch out!!
