“It felt good to get the invite. I knew in previous years there have been great players who have attended, so to be recognized and invited was a blessing,” George said. “I just want to prove that I belong with the best, can hang with them, and I can play my game against the best”
The number two ranked player in the Prep Hoops Texas 25 has already been offered by Baylor, Oklahoma State, TCU, and Texas A&M. He has become a priority for schools located within the region but others such as Louisville, Michigan, North Carolina State, Texas State, and Texas Tech have expressed interest in the talented combo guard.
IN KEYONTE’S WORDS
Baylor: “They like how I can get to the basket and how I can shoot the ball really well. What I like about Baylor is that it is spiritually-based on Christianity. Coach Drew told me that from the jump at the Baylor camp, so that was important to me. It showed me that he would care for me the same even without basketball, so that’s great.”
Oklahoma State: “It felt great to be offered by the school. A couple of pros have come out of Oklahoma State so that made me think that I could be one of those people. They like how I play the game and how I am able to lead.”
TCU: “The offer meant something to me and for them to really like my game was great. I have always thought about staying home you know so my family could have a chance to come to games.”
Texas A&M: “This offer was special because it was my first offer so I felt good about myself but with the coaching change, I have not been re-offered by the new coaching staff.”
FINAL THOUGHTS
George has yet to schedule any visits and being that he is finishing up his freshman year of high school, do not expect any college decisions anytime soon.
