Here are some of the top players at the 16U level:
Will Obioha, ECI Prospects
Arguably the best North Dakota prospect in the 2021 class, Obioha has flashed all sorts of potential during the grassroots season. He’s 6-foot-4 with impressive athleticism and while he’s got a ways to go as a pure shooter, he excels at a lot of other things on both sides of the court.
Alijah Armstrong, Inspired Athletics
Armstrong has been arguably Inspired Athletics’ best player thus far in the AAU season. He’s an explosive point guard who excels when he can break down defenders and get into the paint. He’s not the biggest guy but he’s tough to stay in front of and he brings great energy on both ends.
Mason Love, ECI Purintun
ECI Purintun hasn’t had a ton of success to this point but Love is definitely a guy to pay attention to. He’s one of the best passers in North Dakota and coming along as a scorer.
JaeShaun Shaw, Northern Elites
Shaw’s been one of the better prospects in the 2021 class for a while now out of Four Winds/Minnewaukan and is a productive player for Northern Elites. He’s got good size for a wing and his aggressiveness and ability to create his own shot should be on display this weekend.
Gavin Keller, ECI Prospects
Keller is another one of the top overall players in the 2021 class and at 6-foot-8, he’s a really intriguing long term prospect. He’s a terrific perimeter shooter and passer on offense but also plays with a physicality and aggressiveness inside that you don’t always see from perimeter-based bigs. His length and quickness are assets on the defensive end as well where he’s a threat to alter an inordinate amount of attempts in the paint.
Jah’Heem Leake, Inspired Athletics
Leake is an active and athletic forward from West Fargo Sheyenne who has been impressive on both ends of the floor at times this spring. He’s raw offensively, but his rebounding, defense and ability to produce garbage points inside make him worth watching.
Peyton Zaun, ND Attack Green
Zaun is one of the few proven varsity level players for ND Attack and he’s shown a can be an impact player on both ends of the floor. He’s a solid outside shooter but excels when he can attack either in transition or after ball rotations.
Caleb Duffield ND Attack Blue
Duffield is a small-school guy out of Bowman County and has been one of the best scorers in Class B North Dakota. He’s a terrific shooter and will have a great chance to show that off this weekend.
