Regardless, Team Thad 16u basted them, 87-48.
Mississippi freshman Cedquavious Hunter lead all scorers with 25 points (6 made 3’s).
The Burner is On
Kameron Jones, one of the hottest 2021’s in Tennessee, scored his team’s first two field goals.
He did it again. @Csgkam is a terror from 3.

Hobbled not Hurt
Midway through the first half, then top scorer Kameron Jones suffered a leg injury. Team Thad 16u Head Coach Josh Weeden subbed him out seconds later.
It didn’t matter.
Constant, Sustained Pressure
Isaiah Jones finished a gorgeous pull up.
Jones tried to repeat the shot. Though he missed Jones tipped the rebound out to his corner-residing teammate Hunter. Smooth release, smooth taste of twine.
Leaning on their second unit, Team Thad 16u opened the game up to 32-19.
The Swarm
Mentioned here before, Team Thad constricts opposing offenses with a forever tightening python grip. One guard casually contains the dribble in the backcourt. A second guard hops over to trap and before the dribbler raises his head the entire defense jumped to strangle him. Nobody is open. Arms are waving in his sight lines. The ref is counting. The Swarm is nearly impossible to overcome, especially for average guards. Team Thad 16u, the state’s best team, demonstrated that Saturday.
Broadly Talented
In the blowout every player impacted the game. Cameron Donegan jabbed two 30′ bounce passes through the defense. Jalen Macon, Davon Barnes, and Julian Bond owned the defensive glass. Macon was tough finishing around the rim and Barnes provided versatile, multi-position defense. Brandon Maclin and Isaiah Jones recorded eight points each. Jones thrived in the mid-range. Maclin crashed into the bigs. Each were extremely athletic and smooth. The team is incredibly deep and unlikely to be defeated more than once all weekend.
