Dhieu Deing is a player that has caught the attention of college coaches and won the hearts of basketball fans around the state. His numbers this season were very impressive but what you really have to like about him is how much he enjoys playing basketball. Each time you see him step on the floor, you can tell that he enjoys competing and leading his team. His ability to play the PG and SG positions should allow him to see quite a bit of time as a freshman regardless of the program that he decided to attend.
So what schools made the cut on his final list ? Let’s take a look at some of the options he has.
Barton College: They have to be considered a favorite as they were one of the first schools to offer him after seeing him at Triad All-Star. He took a visit soon after and we feel like he could be a steal for their program.
Monmouth: As far as D1 programs , this is one that he could go into and be an early impact guy. They were on him pretty early and didn’t drag around with the recruitment process, the distance they are located may not play in their favor if Deing wants to be close to family.
High Point University: Tubby Smith has put together an impressive class so far and if they are able to land the commitment of Deing who played for nearby High Point Central, it would only add to that impressive group.
Queens University: This gives him the option to play for a D2 program that is competing for a national championship on a yearly basis while being closer to his family.
USC-Aiken: Another program that is respected in the D2 world, they have nice facilities and play in a very competitive league. This could be a good fit for him as well if he is looking to get away from High Point area but still be close in a way.
As you can see he has a lot of very good options and will be one that will have the college fans out of their seats. For anyone that is interested in watching the announcement live , drop on in this afternoon to High Point Central at 5PM!
