I have left off unsigned players, as they will have their own article later this week. Here are the prospects that will be playing college basketball next year in the 2019 class.
Division I
Samari Curtis- Xenia-
Curtis was committed to Xavier and then Cincinnati, before decommitting from the Bearcats last week. Regardless of whoever he signs with, Curtis is arguably the best offensive scorer in the Dayton area and will greatly help whoever he plays for.
Amari Davis- Trotwood-Madison- Wisconsin-Green Bay
The best defensive performer of the 3 D1 Dayton prospects, Amari finished his senior year on top winning a state title for Trotwood-Madison. He has great size which creates mismatches on the perimeter.
Andre Gordon- Sidney- Texas A&M
Gordon is the most athletic player of the D1 prospects and also has changed his future college decision after seeing Buzz Williams leave Virginia Tech for Texas A&M.
Division II
Ethan Conley- Franklin-Monroe- Ashland
One of the better D2 prospects, Conley could have potentially been a D1 player as he received interest from Wright State and Belmont during his recruitment.
Shaunn Monroe- Fairborn- Urbana
One of the most underrated players all season, Monroe found a home with Urbana and will be a difference maker for the Blue Knights.
Ryan Hall- Fairmont- Taylor University
Hall is one of the most athletic players in the Dayton area. Taylor will be gaining a guard capable of created plenty of attention as he continues his collegiate career.
Kellan Bochenek- Fairmont- Bentely University
A high ceiling guard, Kellan has the skillset to be one of the best young guards for this Bentely team.
NAIA
Milton Gage- C-J- Mount Vernon
A high motored defensive player is a steal for MV.
Ryan Marchal- Centerville- Thomas More
The young point guard ends up in the NAIA after originally committing to play for Huntington Prep’s postgrad team.
Division III
Andrew Clark- Yellow Springs- Wilmington
Wilmington picks up one of the more under the radar scorers in the Metro Buckeye Conference last year.
Conner Case- Troy Christian- Bluffton
One of the most consistent performers from Troy Christian, Conner brings a hard working mentality along with his skillset to Bluffton.
Jack Clement- Bellefontaine- Ohio Wesleyan
A smaller point guard, Jack was a two-sport stud but ultimately chose to play basketball for Ohio Wesleyan. He is a tough player with potential.
C.J. Napier- Fenwick- Ohio Northern
One of the best low post threats for the Falcons during his time at Fenwick, Napier had D2 interest but should play heavy minutes early on for the Polar Bears.
Michael Berner- Springboro- Ohio Northern
Berner is the second big man for the Polar Bears and comes to ONU as one of the better scorers with his back to the basket. He has the size to make a difference as soon as he arrives on campus.
Noah Walker- Greenville- Heidelberg
Sharpshooter for the Green Wave will take his talents to Heidelberg and should see a different role than his time at Greenville.
Willie Bowman- Twin Valley South- Rose-Hulman Insititute of Technology
Willie has been one of the more under-the-radar players throughout his high school career. A proven scorer, he will prove to be a great asset for Rose-Hulman from the guard spot.
JUCO
Damonte Bailey- Ponitz- Southern State
Definitely one of the best low post players in the Dayton City League over the last few seasons, Bailey now will need to transition his skills to the collegiate level where he has a chance to be a special player.
Wade Turner- Brookville- Clark State
Overshadowed at times due to his talented backcourt mate Jacob Gudorf (2019), Turner is able to score the basketball at a high level and could see himself playing D3 ball after his time in JUCO.
Qurri Tucker- Piqua- Hocking College
Another underrated scorer, Tucker could be a special player for Hocking and will be a name to watch at the next level.
Trey Richmond- Piqua- Hocking College
An underrated big, Trey will play a different role for Hocking as he moves on from the Indians.
Michael Kreill- Butler- Sinclair
A proven floor general, Kreill is a steal for Sinclair and will play an early role as a dynamic ball handler.
Dashawn Brown- Fairmont- Clark State
One of the most impactful low post players, Brown’s ability to defend the rim and rebound the ball at a high level will make him quite an asset for Clark State.
