College Commitments, Offers and Other News
Fresh off of the first viewing period of the season, a lot has gone on in the last few days. Prep Hoops is here to keep you up to date with all of the latest recruiting news, so here’s the latest basketball updates in Washington!
College Commitments:
2019 6’5 SG Christian Zamora (Lynden HS) has committed to Western Washington University. Lynden’s all time leading three point shooter came down to a few offers, but ultimately decided to stay closer to home and attend WWU in Bellingham. Christian Zamora is the 42nd player from Washington Elite’s AAU program to have moved onto the next level.
2017 6’3 G Isaac Bonton (Parkrose HS, OR) has committed to WSU after a successful season at Casper College in Wyoming. He was orginally a member of the Montana State Men’s Basketball team, but transferred to Casper College. The former Team Avery Bradley standout is headed back to the Division 1 level to compete in the Pac-12.
2019 6’3 G Jake Elfstrom (Liberty HS) has committed to play for newly hired Coach Matt Logie at Point Loma Nazarene. Point Loma placed second in the NCAA D2 Tourney last season. Jake, a former FOH Seattle standout, was originally recruited by Coach Logie when he was at Whitworth University (D3) but he will follow him on the new adventure to Point Loma.
2019 6’6 PF Griffin Barker (Eastside Catholic HS) has committed to Redlands University. He had been playing with ML20 this spring.
College Transfer:
2017 6’3 SG Cam Tyson (Bothell HS) has made his transfer official. The record setting freshman three point shooter at Idaho has signed at the University of Houston with Head Coach Kelvin Sampson. The former Team Avery Bradley star will sit one year and have three years of eligibility.
Reported Offers:
2021 6’9 PF Kaden Perry (Battle Ground HS) has received an offer from the University of Washington. Oregon State and Santa Clara have also checked in on the Rose City Rebels star forward. Arizona has also recently shown interest in Kaden, but they have not been out to his school as of yet.
2020 6’5 G Jabe Mullins (Mt. Si HS) has received multiple new offers after showcasing his updated skill set on the adidas circuit. Dartmouth visited Jabe at his school and offered the star junior. South Dakota and Princeton have also extended offers in the last week.
2020 6’6 SG Marjon Beauchamp (Rainier Beach HS) and his recruitment appear to show no signs of slowing down. Oregon State has offered the ML20 standout. Alabama visited Marjon at his school and offered him a scholarship this week. The University of Michigan has also put themselves in the mix and visited Marjon at Rainier Beach.
2020 6’8 PF Kendall Munson (Rainier beach HS) was recently offered by the University of San Diego after playing for Seattle Rotary’s EYBL team this past weekend.
