6. Jack Rose (Westosha Central/Wisconsin Playground Club)
Previous: 12
The more I watched this spring, the more I really started to love Rose’s game. This is a 6-foot-3 wing with an advanced mid-range game, able to get into the 12-15 foot area and score efficiently. Rose is also an outstanding competitor on both ends. He does the dirty work and wants to shut his man down defensively. Rose just seemed to get better and better as the spring wore on and played really well in some high-level contests.
11. Marshawn Robinson (Waukesha South/ABC Young Lions)
Previous: NR
If his jumper becomes consistent, there’s not a lot standing in between Robinson and a top 10 ranking. Even without it, we feel like he’s a top 15 guy. A very athletic and strong wing that can play above the rim and is advanced physically for his age, Robinson is very difficult to stop when he gets momentum toward the basket. He plays up at the 17U level and has held his own against players two years older.
22. Max Weisbrod (DeForest/ Wisconsin Swing )
Previous: NR
A smart and dependable guard, Weisbrod showed the ability to show up in big moments this spring. The freshman already has a full season of varsity ball under his belt and it showed during the spring.
24. Andrew Rohde (Brookfield Central/Phenom University)
My gut says Rohde probably ends up higher, but having joined a new AAU team and not getting big minutes on varsity last season, we just don’t know a ton about him yet. In the vieweings we have had, Rohde has made it known he’s a very skilled guard with good size (6-2) and a frame that looks like it will develop a lot over the next few years.
27. Donovan Sparks (Nicolet/Kevon Looney Elite)
Previous: NR
A kid that I think will catch some people by surprise next season, Sparks possibly has a nice role awaiting him on the defending Division 2 state champs. A 6-foot-2 combo guard with good length and athleticism, Sparks makes some really great plays in the open floor and is able to get coast-to-coast in transition on a consistent basis.
28. James Jacobs (Stevens Point/ Wisconsin Swing )
Previous: NR
Really like Jacobs as a shot creator. The 6-foot-2 freshman is very smooth and skilled off the dribble. Somebody that has a chance to rise in a big way, Jacobs thoroughly impressed during our first viewing off him at the Spiece Run N’ Slam.
30. Tyler Borowski (Appleton East/Wisconsin Crusaders)
Previous: NR
Borowski is a very good shot-first point guard. He’s not overly big, but Borowski can size his man up and make things happen off the dribble. The freshman got 21 games of varsity experience under his belt and could be a surprise performer in the Fox Valley Association next season.
