Dalton Banks – 2020 – PG – D1 Minnesota
Dalton BanksThere’s a very real chance Banks moves into the top five of the class of 2020 rankings. Playing with so much talent, a lot of guys can get overshadowed by the amount of top 100 prospects D1 Minnesota has in their lineup. Banks is still a big part of this team. Banks may not have scored a ton this weekend, but was very efficient when he did look for his shot. The feel for his teammates was second to none in the event. The Eau Claire North guard does a terrific job of making decisions in the open floor and putting the ball right where his teammates like it. Banks is also a better athlete than most people know and should be highly valued at the mid-major level by the end of July.
Tyler Borowski – 2022 – PG – Wisconsin Crusaders
We were impressed at Borowski during our first look at the Wisconsin Crusaders 15U club. The Appleton East product is a scoring point guard who can create off the bounce and knock down tough shots. He looked pretty good in isolation situations, breaking down defenders and generating quality looks from mid and 3-point range.
Logan Geissler – 2020 – G – Wisconsin Surge Elite
A kid I didn’t know much about coming into the weekend, Geissler has been a nice addition to this group. Geissler averaged about 14 points and three assists per game as a junior at Bay Port. Geissler does a nice job of tying everything together and elevating the play of his teammates. A pass-first guard who can also score when his number is called, Geissler will be one of the new additions in the next class of 2020 rankings.
Mason Madsen – 2020 – G – Wisconsin Playground Club
I loved the way that Madsen finished the event. His team started to run out of gas on Saturday and Madsen helped carry PGC to the 17U semifinals, including a big performance in a quarterfinal win over the Iowa Barnstormers. The best part about Madsen’s game, he plays with a couple high major prospects, but he’s still an alpha dog on the floor. Madsen feels best suited for the mid-major level, but is more than capable of holding his own against high major talent given his size and toughness. A terrific stop and pop guard who can knock down tough, contested shots, Madsen has offensive takeover ability.
Keonte Jones – 2020 – SG – Wisconsin Premier
Keonte JonesJones feels like he’s really undervalued in the state of Wisconsin. Both in high school and in AAU, Anthony Washington is going to take the majority of the headlines. Jones is still a pretty intriguing athlete with some unique length. I love the 6-foot-4 defensively. He’s always active on that end of the floor and gets his hands on a ton of passes. The Madison East standout needs to be able to score in the halfcourt better, but in transition, he’s quite a handful.
Malcolm Reed – 2019 – G – Wisconsin Academy
We always kind of knew Reed was better than the level he was being recruited at, but his performance in Minneapolis proved it. A Division 1 athlete who just needs his skills to catch up, Reed held his own against some high level competition, including 15 points against D1 Minnesota, the eventual 17U champs. Reed shot the ball as well as we’ve seen in his career and is growing as a perimeter/mid-range threat. He’s also got the size (6-4), speed, and toughness to be an outstanding defender at the next level. Given his ability to handle the point duties as well, if Reed ends up at the NAIA/D3 level, he could be a huge steal.
Logan White – 2021 – F – Wisconsin Playmakers
There’s some really good upside on White. Listed a 6-foot-4, White has length that makes him look closer to 6-foot-6. A physically raw prospect that can still pack on plenty of weight and develop more athleticism, White is a pretty versatile offensive player that can score inside and out. The Wausau West native averaged about nine points per game as a sophomore and could be in store for a breakout junior campaign.
