Some guys have a knack for it, and a number of them showed up to the Battle at the Lakes tournament. Here is a list of some of the best knock-down shooters on the hardwood last weekend.
7 Impressive knock-down shooters:
Will Underwood-
One of the best 3-point shooters in the tournament was Will Underwood. He showed a remarkable ability to maintain composure no matter what defenders did. His ability to knock down corner threes was impressive, and he seemed to be unaffected by attempts to block his shot. Underwood provided nice spacing for ball handlers and other teammates to work with and was always an outlet for well-defended drives.
Jack Janicki-

Jack Janicki had one of the smoothest mid-range games at the Battle at the Lakes. The featured video shows his ability to walk down defenders and lull them into a false sense of security. Once he sensed any weakness in his defender he was able to exploit it. He also showed nice balance when getting his shot off. This allowed him to maintain consistency.
Elijah Grant-
One of the most effective shooting point guards was Elijah Grant. He had a nice 3-point shot that he could knock down, but he was also able to use a clean pump fake to get defenders in the air so he could drive into the mid-range for an uncontested shot. Grant also had a nice spin move to go to if he needed to create space for a jumper.
Jayden Mackie-
Jayden Mackie has been one of the best shooters on the floor this morning. Here’s a clip of him driving and riding up to knock down a mid-range jump shot. #PrepHoopsBatL pic.twitter.com/m5fx6fzSul

If you were looking for a complete all-around game on the offensive end of the floor, Jayden Mackie was your guy. Not only could he get to the rim and collapse the defense, he could knock down shots from anywhere on the floor. He showed great balance and was able to adjust in the air to defenders. The featured clip highlights that skill. In the clip, Mackie is able to shake the defender and get into the lane. Even though the defender did a great job of getting back to contest the shot, Mackie was able to adjust and hit the shot.
AJ Storr-
There weren’t too many centers that showed the shooting ability AJ Storr did last weekend. In late game situations, All Love Basketball relied on Storr to step into shots and knock them down. He possessed good ball handling skills and could step into 15-foot jumpers and perimeter shots with ease.
Terrance Moncrief-
Terrance Moncrief was a prototypical three-and-D player. His recognition of space and high basketball IQ allowed him to find soft spots in perimeter defenses and knock down shots. He was efficient from behind the arc and also provided his team with high-caliber defense. His work rate was impressive as well. He was rarely stagnant for long and was always looking to be an outlet for ball handlers.
Jasiah Nolan-

Name a shot, and Jasiah Nolan probably had it in his bag. The highlight clip above showcases his talent. Although it isn’t a jump shot, it does show his ability to use angles to his advantage. It also displays the tremendous touch he used on shots to get them to go in. Nolan was also able to use the glass to his advantage with a number of bank shots. This allowed him to get shots off that the defense wasn’t anticipating. It also provided his team with points on possessions when they faced stellar defense.
