A number of players took advantage of the opportunity to showcase their talents tonight at St. Louis Park High School . Here is a list of five players who stood out on Friday night.
Five standout players:
Logan Geissier-

In the first game of the night, Logan Geissier showed a unique ability to run the show for his team. His crisp passing and ability to remain calm in transition were hallmarks of his game. He also was able to score the ball effectively. Geissier also possessed the ability to maintain his composure and score when fouled. In the clip above, Geissier is able to pick out a cutting wing and fire the ball in for the score.
Jack Cartwright-
The best jump shooter of the night was Jack Cartwright. He showed a great ability to get his shot off no matter how the defense tried to play throughout the night. Early on, he impressed fans by taking contact on a transition opportunity in which the defender blocked off the paint. He was able to knock down the shot while being fouled. He was extremely efficient as well scoring 8 points in 4 possessions (3 attempts).
Tyler Tappe-

Tyler Tappe was a rebounding menace tonight. He showed an unmatched ability to read the balls trajectory and position himself to grab rebounds. This was highlighted by 4 consecutive rebounds in as many possessions (two were offensive). The featured clip shows his offensive prowess as well. In the video, Tappe is able to drive the ball into the lane, adjust to the defenders pressure and score the floater.
Gavin Pankratz-
The all-around play by Gavin Pankratz tonight was impressive. While he was one of the hardest working players on the floor, he maintained composure and was able to glide through the game. What was most impressive was his post moves. Pankratz had a great feel for where he was positioned when his back was to the basket. Then he was able to use dribble moves to get separation and knock down shots, even when he only saw the basket for a split-second before the release.
Patrick Wade-

One of the most athletic guards on the floor tonight was Patrick Wade. But athleticism isn’t everything, and Wade was able to use his basketball intelligence to put himself in positions to use it to his advantage. In the clip above, Wade uses the pivot to get the defensive player out of position and create a lane to the hoop. He then is able to exploit it, get to the hoop and maintain control as he weaves through attempts to block the shot before he knocks it down.
