The tournament will run Friday, the 3rd through Sunday, the 5th. Here is a preview of the 16U Division.
Locations: The PHHacility & Inspire Courts
Coastal Elite Slayers
My early pick to win the 16U division would be Coastal Elite Slayers. They have an absolutely stacked squad and play super well as a team. They won the 16U division of the Prep Hoops Circuit #HustleSZN. They looked very good and left the event as the #1 ranked team in the Hard Work Region. They even took down one of the best 16U teams that AZ has to offer, Powerhouse Hoops UAA. They should be very fun to watch and I would guess that they win the division easily.
Powerhouse Hoops
My phone was ringing off the hook yesterday as there was a little bit of confusion on which PHH team would be in the event. It seems like a lot of people thought the top 16U team was in the event, PHH UAA. However, the team is hitting the road once again and is going all the way to New Jersey to play some competition out east. Nevertheless, Powerhouses’ second and third tier teams are entered into the event. When you’re dealing with a organization that is as big and deep as PHH, they are going to have talent at all levels. Look for the second and third tier PHH teams to make some noise this weekend.
Team Inspire
I am really excited to watch Team Inspire for one reason…Paris Woods. I am really high on this kid and think he could be really special one day. I love all of his intangibles and athletic gifts. I think has room to grow as a scorer and as a passer but I am sure he is putting in the work to improve. I am excited to see how much he has progressed since we saw him last in the State Playoffs.
