Here were some of the Day 1 standouts of the night.
James Burries 6’4 SF 2020 (Moon Valley HS/PHH White)
-Long and athletic wing who can score it from deep or get to the rim. He got hot during some stretches of the game and carried his team for a win. He competes on defense. He moves smartly without the ball and is a sneaky good passer rounding out his game.
Jalen James 6’2 PG 2020 (Deer Valley HS/PHH White)
-Long and lean pure PG with a tight handle. He has deep range, plays with good pace and is a very intelligent player. Good feel for the game helps him throughout the game.
Case Parsons 6’6 C 2020 (Scottsdale Basis/PHH 17 White)
-Can face up to the 3pt line and has good length to rebound plus blocks shots in area. Primarily under the rim but can dunk it and plays hard. The rising senior keeps adding to his resume to be in next updated rankings.
Oscar Percy 6’7 PF 2020 (Rowland Hall HS/Utah Premier National White)
-Burly forward who can score it inside and is a very good passer. Has a great body and rebounds well in his area. Nice hook shot inside the paint who can use his dominant left or right hand. Left hand is very polished and plays physical.
Jacob Polei 6’4 SF 2020 (Murray HS/Utah Premier National Red)
-Shooter with good length. Decent build and can take it into the lane and score it through contact. Tougher than he appears and plays with a high IQ. Deep ball is consistent.
Austin Solomon 5’9” CG 2020 (Diamond Ranch HS/Rancho Elite Basketball 17U National)
-Fast guard in open court. Can shoot it and can make others better. Ultra competitive. Uses his quickness and handle to create separation. Has a floater game.
TJ Tigler PG 5’8” 2020 (Mountain Pointe HS/Legion of Hoops White 17U)
-Jet quick PG who is much improved 3-pt shooter. Has a nice floater game and is very quick on the ball defensively. All around game keeps advancing and he was one of the stars of the night.
Jaron Perkins 6’2 SF 2021 (Apollo HS/Legion of Hoops Blue 17U)
-Long and muscular wing who can shoot it from deep. Plays the passing lanes well with his athleticism and IQ. Handle is improving and can get downhill.
Perkins keeps improving every year and should impact his varsity team next year.
