Here are some of the players that stood out in the final:
Leonard Romayor – Legacy
He did a great job distributing the ball to teammates on offense, dribbling into the lane and drawing defenders concerned with his ability to finish at the rim. He used the space to find teammates in good spots to shoot or make cuts to the basket.
Kyle Perry – Casteel
Perry displayed some scoring ability, both with jumpers and smart cuts off the ball. But, what was most impressive was his hustle in this championship game. He was fierce on defense, moving his feet well and putting his hands into passing lanes for deflections and steals. He also hustled his way into a lot of rebounds, and was a major factor in this game.
Peyton Lee – Seton
He showed some of the best scoring ability in this particular game, especially in the second half to close out the championship. He kept driving to the lane to draw fouls and hit lay ups, and hit a few tough shots outside the paint, too.
Christian Depeu – Legacy
You don’t see guys his size often at the 14U level. He towered over opponents in the final, getting easy rebounds and blocking or contesting shots on defense. His presence down low allowed perimeter defenders to take more chances and make more plays further from the basket.
